Poles getting richer
Poles are spending a smaller part of their income on food, which means that they are getting richer. It is clearly visible that Poland is one of the countries for which the EU accession was the most profitable.
According to data provided by Eurostat, 15 years ago Poles spent an average of 30 percent of their income on food, while today that has dropped to 18.4 percent. This is a sign that the quality of life in Poland is improving.
Poland still has room for improvement when compared to well-developed countries like Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Ireland, where people spend only slightly more than 10 percent of their income on food.
